According to Kim’s website, this scent is described as

“fresh, creamy and tart lemon with hints of crust”

Kim has one of the best selection of lemon scents.  I noticed that I hadn’t tried all of them so I thought I would add this one to my cart.  I wasn’t sure what to expect from this fragrance.  Usually biscotti scents vary and they might have sweet fennel/anise notes added to them.  Knowing that, I wasn’t sure if it would really work with a sweet, creamy lemon, in my opinion.  I was really impressed with this once I opened the bag.  I could smell the sweet lemon and the wonderful bakery note.  Not to be confused with her Lemon Meringue Pie that has that tart custardy note along with a meringue note.

This is what I thought her Lemon Pound Cake was going to smell like, dense bakery/cake-y note with a lemony vanilla glaze/frosting.  It’s not as dense as LPC but you do get hints of crust or cake in this divine mix which I feel really helps the lemon POP.  Delish!

I am happy to have another phenomenal lemon scent to add to my ever growing list of favorites!  This will please any bakery connoisseur and will be a huge hit with the lemon lovers.  The overall throw was amazing as well.  It filled my kitchen, great room, and made it all the way down the hall and into the spare bedrooms.

Even though coconut scents can be a bit overwhelming Kim’s Coconut Cream Pie is a nice creamy lightly coconut dessert/bakery fragrance.  Great for those of you that dream of coconut cream pie and would like to have the lingering aroma of this delicious sweet treat in your home.  You definitely get the creamy, sweet custard like filling…love it.  As for the throw, it was a lot lighter than I thought it was going to be.  Most of the time, Kim’s tarts are pretty strong.  Don’t get me wrong, it was able to fill a small room easily, but I don’t think it would fill my great room.

I would give this a 5 out of 5 but it was not as strong as I would like it to be.  I will

IMG_1063The other day I decided to go ahead and burn one of my Kitchen Canisters from Kringle.  I have been putting it off because I wanted to spend the day burning it, with the occasional blow out to trim the wick, enjoying the scent and making sure I was good and ready to write a review.  Don’t worry YouTubers I will make a video for this as well.Winking
The description on the website states “ the unmistakable scent of tropical coconut married with a rich, buttery cookie”.  I’m not a big fan of coconut, as I have mentioned before, but something must have made me add this to the cart.  When I received my order I was worried about this actually.  I popped the lid off and WOW it about knocked me back!  Super sweet coconut filled the air and I was so worried I had a tumbler full of tropical drink mix.  I figured I would go ahead and light to see what it actually produced.  I was surprised!
A very mild, lovely coconut smell filled most of my home. I haven’t gotten much of the buttery cookie note.  I have only had this candle burning for about 8 hours so it might come out as the candle burns down.  It smells like the meat portion of the coconut.  Not overly tropical, more of a baking coconut, delicious.  I feel that I could burn this scent all year.
If you are looking for a bakery type of coconut then you might want to look into this scent.  Enjoy!

This has to be one of the best bread scents I have tried.  Amazed.....I have no other way to describe how I feel when I smell this scent.  Here’s the overview:  Kringle describes this scent as “Instantly-recognizable, familiar and utterly comforting, our Fresh Baked Bread creates the perfect blend of homey, delicate sweetness and yeasty earthiness that only oven-hot, crusty loaves can offer. “ I ordered one of the Daylights in this scent so I could try it before investing in a large candle. When I first opened it I thought it was really yeast like.  I used to work in a place where I baked all day long and before mixing the dough, I had to let the yeast and hot water sit in the bowl.  I didn’t think I was going to like it to be honest. Very strong.  After a second or two I dared to take another whiff.  I couldn’t believe what I was smelling….crusty, warm and inviting loaf of bread, broken open….smelling the warm insides.  DELICIOUS!  I feel like going to an Italian restaurant where they serve the loaf of bread and pepper, herbs, and garlic  mix with olive oil.  How they were able to recreate the smell of crisp crust and the crumb (the insides), I will never know but I do know that I can have my house smell fantastic and not have to dirty a single mixing bowl!    I had to order it in a large candle.

I will continue to buy this until they no longer make it (how's that for love).

jarlid i love yankee

This illumalid is SUPER cute!  I love it just as much as I <3 Yankee Candle!  It’s one of the nicer ones that I have purchased.  The lid doesn’t just sit on the top like some of my newer lids, it actually slides over the the top.  Nice and heavy to keep the heat circulating to melt the wax.  Fabulous!

good morning small

Here is my jar of Good Morning!  I wasn’t sure if I even wanted it but I got two of them.  It smells pretty good!  I can’t wait until I get better (I have a cold) and light this puppy up!

I think over all I’m going to like it!  I heard so many people on Facebook asking for it back so I am not expecting much of a bakery scent though.  The notes say pears, citrus and cardamom.  Yum!

My Home Sweet Home collector’s jars came in the mail yesterday so I am excited to write about those as well.  As soon as I get this majorly important paper done for work I will be getting those reviews up.   OH and side note don’t forget about B&BW fall clearance event!  If you have some spare cash they have their Halloween candles for half off and some of the bakery ones too that came out not too long ago.

I can’t partake in this event since I am (opens her wallet and the moths fly out) broke.  Let me know if you get any goodies!!

Take care!~

Want a yummy pumpkin without all the spice from nutmeg, cinnamon and clove? Want a warm inviting scent throughout your home? Did another company's Pumpkin Buttercream fail to please? Look no further! My bakery lovin' friends the search is over!!

pumpkinIt’s that time of year when all the candle/wax loving people try and find the best fall scent.  I have tried another company’s Pumpkin Buttercream and it was, well, too much my for taste.  sometimes the simple things work best so I took a chance with Front Porch Candle Co.’s Pumpkin Buttercream.  Words can’t express how perfect this is!!  I was happy when I read on Facebook that FP had a fantastic PB.  I wrote it down and made to sure to add it to my first order.  Un-real.  UN-REAL!  It’s sweet instead of spicy and creamy.  It’s like taking my version of pumpkin pie (which does have all the spicy stuff in it) and mixing it with thick fluffy creamy buttercream frosting.  All it needs is a cake to go on and a hot cup of coffee to wash it down with….ahh.  Being a foodie/bakery person I was hesitant to burn this in the bedroom since I didn’t want it to over power the room to where I couldn’t walk in.  So happy I did though.  It was the only warmer in the house that wasn’t being used.  My room had every aspect of fall!  I actually moved my computer and turned on my tv show in there just so I could enjoy it!

Let’s just say I will be ordering more of this seeing how it’s only September 5th!  If you are looking for a great pumpkin scent, give this a try!  Well balanced, has a nice strong throw and is the ideal fall scent.

Enjoy!

As I have stated before I have this love of all lemon scents. Doesn't matter if it's bakery, straight up fruit, blended with popular fragrances to make a lemon twist. I thought about lemon spell today. Where could you go wrong if you love lemon and Victoria's Secret Love Spell.
I bought some of these when Angie was having a sale of buy a grubby tart and get one of the same scent free.

Love it!! Lemon tang with the sweetness of love spell. Very bright, great strong throw. I actually didn't even use this in the kitchen, it was in the bedroom.  If I could have my love spell be a custom blend just for me….this would be it!  Absolutely going to reorder this blended scent and if you like both lemon and love spell give this a try.  Angie’s tarts are inexpensive and she offers free shipping all the time!  YAY!  Here’s the web address to Front Porch Candle Co.

A few weeks ago I purchased Banana Nut Bread in tarts.  I figured I love bakery and I often make banana nut bread from scratch so I might as well try it out.

When I gave it a sniff while it was cold I could get the bread and light banana and some hints of nuts.  Honestly I wasn’t sure how the throw was going to be since it wasn’t super strong cold.  Shockingly it was quite strong and very true to a banana nut bread baking in the oven.  Interestingly enough, when I was in the family room I could get a really awesome baking scent but once I walked into the kitchen it was almost too much.  I was not sure what I was smelling but it was not BNB.  It wasn’t sweet nor did I smell any banana.  It reminded me of a buttered bread.  It was a yeast smell which was not appealing at all.  When I left the kitchen, it once again worked itself out, which still to this day I do not understand why.  I feel that it could have used a bit more sweetness like some sugar or vanilla extract but that it totally just my opinion.  I still feel that it was a true, authentic scent that most bakery/foodie fans would like and should try.

Have you tried BNB?  What did you think of it?  Most people I have talked to really liked it.  I will try it again and perhaps I will do a little mixology with it it.  I’ll post what I come up with and if it made it like my homemade bread.

Enjoy!

Tonight I am melting Candles By Victoria’s Lemon Meringue Pie.  As I have stated before I am a huge fan of lemon scents.  I figured since I am sitting at home, waiting for the next band of showers to hit us, I would melt away my tarts and take my mind off of the nasty weather that will be on and off all night long.

20110825_232

I love pie.  There I said it.  It can be creamy, fruity, cold, hot, custardy…it doesn’t matter.  I figured I would try CBV’s Lemon Meringue Pie while I sipped on hot tea.  Its got a fabulous tart/tang/bite to it.  The bright and tangy citrus is perfectly blended with bakery.  If you like the real deal then you will know what I am talking about.  When the custard gets back in your mouth and hits your tongue right where your taste buds register tart to the brain.  Sweet tart goodness.  SUGARY sweet tart goodness!  I love light and fluffy meringue too!  Just absolute awesomeness.  I have tried several versions of this in candle form by other companies….cheap candles I find at my local stores.  You know, the ones you pick up because really it’s $5 so maybe it will surprise me and if not…..it was only $5.  Each one is a disappointment.  Might smell like it would be good when it has a wax pool but once it’s lit, you get nothing.  Not this time.  I will, from now on, save my money and purchase this in a candle and more scent shots.

If you are a lover of the lemon, then you should give this a try.  =)

Other scent shots from CBV you might like: Lovin’ Lemon, Lemon Lime Fizz, Fruit Loops

Sugar Corn Pudding is described on Kim's website as "This fragrance is very unique. This is one of my favorites! AWESOME scent!"  Okay so this doesn't really give you any clue what you are getting yourself into...but it's okay!  I will try my best to describe it to you using actual food/bakery scents.  First, the back story:  I have to say that I read about this one on facebook so many times and decided to give it a try.  Really the name doesn't really jump out at me, how could corn and sugar,  formed into a pudding even sound appealing.  I finally after much deliberation added one bag to my list.

I popped the creamy brown tart into the warmer and after a few minutes I could smell the most delicious scent!  WOW!  All I could say over and over again was WOW!  How impressed I was with this tart. Now for the description: (Remember this is subjective and you might get something completely different from this)  Sweet creamy corn baked goods like a sweet corn bread meets a caramelized top toasted under the broiler.  Not over powering with any one scent; a perfect blend!  The corn is mixed in so much that I do not really get any hint of it but I really don't mind since I love this scent I wouldn't change it at all!  My husband, whom I love dearly, has all of three labels for scents.....Baking, Maple Syrup, and Fruit. When I had this tart going I was so worried he wasn't going to like it, but I wanted to get his reaction to it.  He walked into the room and was wondering what I was cooking that smelled good!  I caught him right there!
I have been looking for a bakery scent that wasn't going to go overboard with clove, cinnamon, and some sort of maple/caramel mixed in. I can't believe I went as long as I did without trying this fragrance.  If you are planning an order from Kim's please put this one on the list and give it a try.  You can't go wrong with it costing as little as it does and I know you will enjoy it, or if you aren't a foodie/bakery person you might know someone who would like it.   This scent can be used year round; if you want to just fill your house or just your kitchen with yummy bakery goodness.

Overall Rating: 5 (a must have)
