Sugar Corn Pudding is described on Kim's website as "This fragrance is very unique. This is one of my favorites! AWESOME scent!"  Okay so this doesn't really give you any clue what you are getting yourself into...but it's okay!  I will try my best to describe it to you using actual food/bakery scents.  First, the back story:  I have to say that I read about this one on facebook so many times and decided to give it a try.  Really the name doesn't really jump out at me, how could corn and sugar,  formed into a pudding even sound appealing.  I finally after much deliberation added one bag to my list.

I popped the creamy brown tart into the warmer and after a few minutes I could smell the most delicious scent!  WOW!  All I could say over and over again was WOW!  How impressed I was with this tart. Now for the description: (Remember this is subjective and you might get something completely different from this)  Sweet creamy corn baked goods like a sweet corn bread meets a caramelized top toasted under the broiler.  Not over powering with any one scent; a perfect blend!  The corn is mixed in so much that I do not really get any hint of it but I really don't mind since I love this scent I wouldn't change it at all!  My husband, whom I love dearly, has all of three labels for scents.....Baking, Maple Syrup, and Fruit. When I had this tart going I was so worried he wasn't going to like it, but I wanted to get his reaction to it.  He walked into the room and was wondering what I was cooking that smelled good!  I caught him right there!
I have been looking for a bakery scent that wasn't going to go overboard with clove, cinnamon, and some sort of maple/caramel mixed in. I can't believe I went as long as I did without trying this fragrance.  If you are planning an order from Kim's please put this one on the list and give it a try.  You can't go wrong with it costing as little as it does and I know you will enjoy it, or if you aren't a foodie/bakery person you might know someone who would like it.   This scent can be used year round; if you want to just fill your house or just your kitchen with yummy bakery goodness.

Yankee Candle had their preview party for their Halloween stuff today.  It was called the After Life Party and it was super cute!  I picked up a couple of things and it's always a plus when you have coupons! So here's the haul:

I got Bonesy the Dog.  Anyone who loves puppies would love this piece.  He's so cute!!  I wasn't sure just from his picture on the internet but as soon as I walked into the store this morning I fell in love!  I snatched him up right away since he was a first or only pick for some and I knew they were of limited supply. I actually wanted to pick up another one but I figured I better not get greedy plus I had others I had to get..I love him and he will be my favorite Halloween piece for years to come.

The next piece I picked up was Chainsaw!  I loved this one too when I looked at the pictures online.  My picture doesn't show the scared look on the pumpkin's face; worried that he is going to be the victim of a pumpkin carver...using a chainsaw!
This year, the preview party flyer had the Grim Reaper on it.  Instantly I knew I had to have something that was Grimmy.  I actually saw several pieces: tart warmer, votive holder, shelf sitter, and ornaments.  This one is labelled Time's Up.  Good ol' Grimmy is waiting by the clock to go and pick up his next victim.  Of course when your in the business of collecting the dead, you definitely have some job security.  He's the perfect piece for my Halloween table.
Next, I bought something that wasn't part of the Boney Bunch Collection.  This is actually under the Skeleton Crew Collection and they are tea light holders.  Under each glass bottle is a little holder for a tea light...once you put the bottles back over the light they have an errie purple-ish tint.  It almost reminds me of a black light.  I thought these would be great in the kitchen since they have drink labels on the front; Skeletini, Spider Sting Cider, Wicked Remedy.  Very cute!
The last bit of my haul, I grabbed an illuma-lid and received a free small jar of Witches' Brew (patchouli) when I checked out.  Let's start with the lid.  Spiders....I'm not a fan at all but I couldn't pass it up!  It's a web on top with a dangling spider.  I have a feeling I might just flip out each time I see it when I turn on a light in the kitchen but it's okay....totally worth it!  Once I made it to the counter, I received the last free jar of the Witches' Brew.  I am not a patchouli fan but the label is cute so I might just keep it as a decoration instead of actually burning it.
Now, I know it seems like I didn't get many candles, I actually did!  Yankee is having a 2 for $12 tea light special!  I bought 4 boxes of tea lights for $24!!  Grapevine & Oak (2 boxes), Harvest, and Candy Corn!  I thought I would hold off on getting any jar candles....seeing how Halloween is still a frightfully long way aways from when the Boney's preview party.  I hope to get a couple jars of Pumpkin Patch.  It's the swirl candle made with Harvest and Spiced Pumpkin....<3!!  It's everything I think of for a fall/Halloween scent!  Other than that I think I'll be ready for the Samp and TartPolooza and the winter/Christmas holiday collections.
Enjoy and Happy Burning!!

Apple Crumble is a new bakery scent that was created by Slatkin & Co. and sold at Bath and Body Works.  I do believe this is one of the contest winners from the Best Recipes contest.  The scent description from the Bath and Body Works website and it's also printed on the bottom the jar is "Baked Granny Smith and McIntosh Apples topped with vanilla crumble, cinnamon and nutmeg."
Okay before I start giving a review I do want to let you know that I don't actually light these candles.  I feel with how small they are I won't get a true idea of what the larger candles will provide.  I always put them in the freeze for just a few minutes so they will pop out of the plastic container.  Once they are out, I let them get back to room temperature before I put them into a tart burner/wax melter.  It will give off tons of fragrance!  When I am close to this candle I can smell the tart and sweet apples however when I sat across the room I could really get the full blend of all the notes.  I was worried at first because I could really only smell tart apples with hnts of vanilla.  It was almost as if it was sour smelling and I think the green tart apples (Granny Smiths) really came out more than the McIntosh.
Sometimes I loved it and other times it was too much and I had to walk away from it.  I don't think I will be purchasing this in a larger candle but it was nice to try.  If you really like tart Granny Smith apples with hints of spice and vanilla then you would enjoy this candle.

Good Morning everyone!
Just placed my first order with Candles by Victoria.  I was a little turned off by the shipping cost but I have heard such great things about this company and if all those people are will to pay for shipping, they must be good!  I can't wait to be able to review these candles and scent shots!
I also ordered again from Kim's Tarts.  I just can't get enough of these tarts and you just can't beat the price!  She is super sweet and she responds to any questions you might have about her products.   I had a question about a scent and posted it on Facebook and she responded that day.  I have not had experience with Victoria's Facebook page yet but I'm pretty sure she is the same way about answering questions and filling everyone in about new scents and what not.  Both seem to be on the ball when it comes to communicating with their fans and making sure that everyone is happy =).
The next company I will be ordering from is Front Porch Candle Co.  I have heard amazing reviews about this company as well so next pay day I already have my scents picked out.
So many companies and not enough money for this girl!  Here's the information for the companies listed above:

Have a fantastic fragrant day!

One of the scents I thought I would try, and it was a last minute decision was Island Heat. I have read the description several times, do I want it or not....well I finally added it to my cart. Lately I have been ordering fall scents so I can find a few that I like but summer isn't over yet and I don't want to melt fall scents in the house full time in the late summer. Island Heat from Kim's Tarts is described on her website as "A powerful fresh pineapple juice, rich luscious strawberries and sweet orange juice. Combined with a dash of zing, sweet vanilla and brown sugar, you will have a knockout scent. This oil is both sweet and sassy with a bit of "fizzy" quality! Super strong!"
It's a beautiful orange color and of course tied with a cute little bow. The bag contains three tarts that last for about 4 to 8 hours each. Kim's Tarts cost $1.50 each bag which is an amazing deal. I melted this tart in the master bathroom since I was cleaning the bedroom I wanted to be able to smell it and keep it in my sight. The first thing I smell is orange juice and pineapple juice mixed with some vanilla. It reminds me of a tropical drink. I know the notes say that there are strawberries but I don't really smell those in this mix.
After melting for about 2 to 3 hours it smelled like a tropical paradise in my bathroom! I wanted a frosty tropical drink and to lay out on the beach or by the pool! Creamy vanilla, it wasn't super strong but you definitely get a hint of it. Juicy and sweet orange juice is the scent I got the most of with a mix of pineapple every so often popping up. Very nice summer scent, and strong too! Even after the tealight went out, my husband and I went out to dinner, and when we came home I could still smell it.

I think this was a great scent, however, after a while I was thinking it smelled more like orange dreamsicle. I would totally suggest this scent to someone who likes tropical scents that doesn't contain coconut. Some people can be a little weary of tropical scents because they can be over wheleming with coconut and mango. This doesn't seem to have much of coconut or mango if it even has any at all.  I would say that it's well blended so give this a try for sure!
I will difinitely order this again, perhaps for next year or days that I wish were filled with summer scents.  Creamy and tropical....you can't go wrong!
