It was suggested to me by Kringle that I try Rosemary and Fresh Baked Bread together and I thought the other night that it was just what I needed to melt after a long day of doing laundry, entertaining a baby, and cooking dinner.  I don’t always like the aftermath of dinner fragrances….sometimes it just lingers too long.  I thought of this because sometimes sugary sweet scents don’t play well with odors from our meal.

I have already written a review for Fresh Baked Bread…the short version – I love it and will continue to buy it as long as they have it.  It’s the best bread scent that I have come across. <3

Now, on to the Rosemary.  I have purchased one of the Spice Line candles before and LOVED it..(I haven’t gotten to the review of it yet)..so when I saw this in the box, I’m sure the smile on my face was HUGE!  This smells amazing!  I think it is so authentic and it is like I totally have a sprig of rosemary in my hand.  What a minute…but what does it smell like..this is actually kind of tricky to explain.  Rosemary has kind of a salty sweet pine smell.  I know that might not make a whole lot of sense but if you really need to know, go and find it at the store and smell it!  Sure you might look a little silly but it’s okay.  Adored!

Before I melted this I guessed that it would smell like the bread and herbs you get at Italian restaurant.  It was even better than I imagined!  I already was in love with the FBB but adding the Rosemary pushed it over the edge of savory scents.  I think I will actually buy these both in the largest size so I an burn them together.  I would recommend this to anyone who needs a change up from the sugary sweet fragrances.

This is one of the new fragrances that came out with the Italian line. I was super excited to hear about this scent because I love coffee scents even though I really haven’t expressed that on here.  It’s hard to find a coffee scent that I use…they typically are too strong or they are mixed with some other notes that I don’t care for…maybe I don’t like their (random company’s) pumpkin or gingerbread.

Bath and Body Works describes this fragrance as:

In Italy, you never take your coffee “to go” – instead you stop and savor the aromas of roasted espresso beans and sweet vanilla froth that inspired this fragrance

I love this fragrance!!!  It’s bold and strong! It’s so strong… I have it sitting on my kitchen table/bar and it’s not even lit and I can smell it!!  Rich roasted espresso beans with slight creaminess….totally in love! I have 13 of these!!  I love how it smells like a coffee shop …yes even if it has a hint of chocolate.  I have heard others say that and I agree it does but I like Mocha drinks so it’s all good!

6052670461254022Golden Sands is one of the new fragrances from Yankee Candle for the summer.  It is listed in the Fresh category even though I get some floral in this as well.

This fragrance is not strong by any means but that doesn’t mean rule it out.  I totally picture a nice evening stroll on the beach while the sun is setting however it does not have a “beachy” smell to it.  I don’t get even a hint the salty water, sea air or sun tan lotion smell.  I actually smell vanilla…not like a baker’s vanilla but a softer feminine vanilla.  I can smell the sandalwood and I do get a sweet floral note in it as well.  Yankee Candle’s description of this scent is:

Your private beach awaits, where time pauses in soft breezes of soothing sandalwood, luminous orange flower and warm tonka beans.

IMG_0219I personally won’t be buying this in a jar or anything but it was nice to try.  I wouldn’t turn it down if it was offered as a gift.

It’s not overly floral which is nice because I’m pretty picky about floral scents.  I can’t handle them if they are too powdery.

Worth It: Not something I am running to the store to pick up three jars but I’m sure there are people that really would enjoy this fragrance.

Think about cutting a freshly baked loaf of banana bread…it’s moist, warm, fruity and sweet.  I get a really ripe banana note, which is what I use when I make banana bread…it’s actually the reason I make banana bread just to use up the bananas I purchased.  I think there might be a little brown sugar in the mix. It’s simple yet delicious! I just want to put a pat of butter on this and pour a glass of milk or cup of coffee.

This was super strong!  I only used 1 piece and it filled my house with sweet bread and fresh bananas.  I was pleasantly surprised!  Usually I’m skeptical about scents with banana in them sometimes they smell like Runts candies, but not this.

I feel that Kringle does a wonderful job making their scents very authentic.

Kringle describes this fragrance as:

The rich homey fragrance of oven-fresh banana bread is captured perfectly.  A must sniff.

I received a box of goodies from Kringle today.  I was super IMG_0076_thumb4surprised to find what was in it!  Before I share everything I want to tell you a little about the company.

First and foremost Kringle is not in business with Yankee.  The short version of this story is…  Mike Kittredge II started Yankee in 1969 and sold the company in 1998 then retired from the candle industry.  Michael “Mick” Kittredge III started Kringle Candle Company in 2009 as part of a college course…how cool is that!  That’s really the only connection that can be made.  Yankee was out of the picture before Kringle was even born.

Why the white wax and what kind of wax is it?

The white wax is actually the concept Michael “Mick” Kittredge III came up with…it will match any décor no matter which fragrance you pick…there for it won’t clash with your interior tastes.  Also the white wax burns brighter and cleaner since there are no dyes in the wax to interfere with the wick.

**A personal thought on the white wax is I am not paying extra money for dyes.

The wax used at Kringle is 100% food grade paraffin.  To learn more about the differences of soy and paraffin click –> here

My package included: 5 Wax Potpourri Melts ($3 a piece), 5 Daylights ($3 a piece), 2 Air Fresheners ($2.99 a piece), 2 Wick Crystal Pillar ($24), Medium Classic Apothecary Jar ($20), Wax Potpourri warmer ($19.95)

The Wax Potpourri Melts

IMG_2215

The wax potpourri melts are a great way to fill your home with fragrance!  They are easy to break apart so blending scents is a breeze.  Think of all the possibilities!  You don’t have to save half pieces in a plastic bag…just break off what you need and put the rest back in the container for another day!

$3 a piece

DayLights

IMG_2212

Don’t be fooled by its size, this little baby can really hold its own.  Daylights are a twelve hour candle (which is how they got their name because they last all day).  These candles are great for small places or traveling and have a surprisingly strong throw.

$3 a piece

Crystal Pillars

IMG_0114

This is a two wick crystal pillar in the scent Mango.  Two wick crystal pillars is preferred by those seeking extra fragrance power.  Remember multiple wicks make for a nice even wax pool in the larger candles.

6” = $25 Burn time = 85 Hours

7.5” = $26 Burn time = 130 Hours

Air Fresheners

These air fresheners are great for any location where you aren’t allowed to have a flame like closets, storage cabinets, or areas that are designated for pets.

Wax Potpourri Warmer

This tea light warmer is one of my favorites!!  It has a detachable bowl on the top which makes cleaning a breeze!  It comes in two different colors black (seen in the picture) and chrome.

I recently placed an order with Kringle Candle Company and picked up Brownie Cheesecake.  I haven’t tried this fragrance before but I figured I really like their hot chocolate scent (I will review that soon) so this one has to be good as well.  I think chocolate is a difficult fragrance to capture.  It comes off as overly sweet, fake, and just not authentic.  I do believe that Kringle just gets it.  At first, I wasn’t sure on a cold throw sniff.  I wasn’t even sure what it was, I couldn’t smell any thing amazing about it.  I could make out that it was sweet and bakery like but that’s about it.  Once I lit this candle, however, it totally took me by surprise!  This is a delicious fragrance, sweet chocolate brownies, rich and decadent, creamy notes for the cheesecake.  Perfect!  I absolutely love it!!  If I could have this burning in my house all the time, day and night, I totally would!  I have even had friends and family over asking me what I was baking and that my house smells so good. Delicious!

Kringle describes this fragrance as:

Some might say “sinful” but we prefer to say “spot-on”! This is pure deliciousness in a jar.
