20130516_645I have to say that I was really impressed with this scent.  I know so many other companies have put these two fragrances together but I think everyone has their own idea as to what it is supposed to smell like.  For me, this is it.  It’s a nice calming and relaxing scent.  Not too herbal but not perfume-y either.  The vanilla is creamy but subtle.  It’s not like a super sugary sweet vanilla or a baking vanilla.  This is a great anytime scent but I like to melt/burn these types of fragrances in the bedroom.  It was not choke you out strong but it had a nice throw and easily filled my great room.  The Kringle website describes this scent as:

“Two classic scents that play well together. Honest, rich Vanilla meets one of the great understated florals.”

Rating (0-5): StarStarStarStar

Throw: Medium

Worth It: Yes.  I’m not too crazy about lavender, it has to be just the right kind.  I did enjoy this one

20130516_643

It was suggested to me by Kringle that I try Rosemary and Fresh Baked Bread together and I thought the other night that it was just what I needed to melt after a long day of doing laundry, entertaining a baby, and cooking dinner.  I don’t always like the aftermath of dinner fragrances….sometimes it just lingers too long.  I thought of this because sometimes sugary sweet scents don’t play well with odors from our meal.

I have already written a review for Fresh Baked Bread…the short version – I love it and will continue to buy it as long as they have it.  It’s the best bread scent that I have come across. <3

20130516_651

Now, on to the Rosemary.  I have purchased one of the Spice Line candles before and LOVED it..(I haven’t gotten to the review of it yet)..so when I saw this in the box, I’m sure the smile on my face was HUGE!  This smells amazing!  I think it is so authentic and it is like I totally have a sprig of rosemary in my hand.  What a minute…but what does it smell like..this is actually kind of tricky to explain.  Rosemary has kind of a salty sweet pine smell.  I know that might not make a whole lot of sense but if you really need to know, go and find it at the store and smell it!  Sure you might look a little silly but it’s okay.  Adored!

Before I melted this I guessed that it would smell like the bread and herbs you get at Italian restaurant.  It was even better than I imagined!  I already was in love with the FBB but adding the Rosemary pushed it over the edge of savory scents.  I think I will actually buy these both in the largest size so I an burn them together.  I would recommend this to anyone who needs a change up from the sugary sweet fragrances.

Think about cutting a freshly baked loaf of banana bread…it’s moist, warm, fruity and sweet.  I get a really ripe banana note, which is what I use when I make banana bread…it’s actually the reason I make banana bread just to use up the bananas I purchased.  I think there might be a little brown sugar in the mix. It’s simple yet delicious! I just want to put a pat of butter on this and pour a glass of milk or cup of coffee.

This was super strong!  I only used 1 piece and it filled my house with sweet bread and fresh bananas.  I was pleasantly surprised!  Usually I’m skeptical about scents with banana in them sometimes they smell like Runts candies, but not this.

I feel that Kringle does a wonderful job making their scents very authentic.

Kringle describes this fragrance as:

The rich homey fragrance of oven-fresh banana bread is captured perfectly.  A must sniff.

I received a box of goodies from Kringle today.  I was super IMG_0076_thumb4surprised to find what was in it!  Before I share everything I want to tell you a little about the company.

First and foremost Kringle is not in business with Yankee.  The short version of this story is…  Mike Kittredge II started Yankee in 1969 and sold the company in 1998 then retired from the candle industry.  Michael “Mick” Kittredge III started Kringle Candle Company in 2009 as part of a college course…how cool is that!  That’s really the only connection that can be made.  Yankee was out of the picture before Kringle was even born.

Why the white wax and what kind of wax is it?

The white wax is actually the concept Michael “Mick” Kittredge III came up with…it will match any décor no matter which fragrance you pick…there for it won’t clash with your interior tastes.  Also the white wax burns brighter and cleaner since there are no dyes in the wax to interfere with the wick.

**A personal thought on the white wax is I am not paying extra money for dyes.

The wax used at Kringle is 100% food grade paraffin.  To learn more about the differences of soy and paraffin click –> here

My package included: 5 Wax Potpourri Melts ($3 a piece), 5 Daylights ($3 a piece), 2 Air Fresheners ($2.99 a piece), 2 Wick Crystal Pillar ($24), Medium Classic Apothecary Jar ($20), Wax Potpourri warmer ($19.95)

The Wax Potpourri Melts

IMG_2215

The wax potpourri melts are a great way to fill your home with fragrance!  They are easy to break apart so blending scents is a breeze.  Think of all the possibilities!  You don’t have to save half pieces in a plastic bag…just break off what you need and put the rest back in the container for another day!

$3 a piece

DayLights

IMG_2212

Don’t be fooled by its size, this little baby can really hold its own.  Daylights are a twelve hour candle (which is how they got their name because they last all day).  These candles are great for small places or traveling and have a surprisingly strong throw.

$3 a piece

Crystal Pillars

IMG_0114

This is a two wick crystal pillar in the scent Mango.  Two wick crystal pillars is preferred by those seeking extra fragrance power.  Remember multiple wicks make for a nice even wax pool in the larger candles.

6” = $25 Burn time = 85 Hours

7.5” = $26 Burn time = 130 Hours

A lovely classic design!  This is a medium Classic Apothecary Jar in the fragrance Citrus and Sage.  This is the most popular style and represents the core of the Kringle line.

Air Fresheners

These air fresheners are great for any location where you aren’t allowed to have a flame like closets, storage cabinets, or areas that are designated for pets.

Wax Potpourri Warmer

IMG_0116

This tea light warmer is one of my favorites!!  It has a detachable bowl on the top which makes cleaning a breeze!  It comes in two different colors black (seen in the picture) and chrome.

IMG_1063The other day I decided to go ahead and burn one of my Kitchen Canisters from Kringle.  I have been putting it off because I wanted to spend the day burning it, with the occasional blow out to trim the wick, enjoying the scent and making sure I was good and ready to write a review.  Don’t worry YouTubers I will make a video for this as well.Winking
The description on the website states “ the unmistakable scent of tropical coconut married with a rich, buttery cookie”.  I’m not a big fan of coconut, as I have mentioned before, but something must have made me add this to the cart.  When I received my order I was worried about this actually.  I popped the lid off and WOW it about knocked me back!  Super sweet coconut filled the air and I was so worried I had a tumbler full of tropical drink mix.  I figured I would go ahead and light to see what it actually produced.  I was surprised!
A very mild, lovely coconut smell filled most of my home. I haven’t gotten much of the buttery cookie note.  I have only had this candle burning for about 8 hours so it might come out as the candle burns down.  It smells like the meat portion of the coconut.  Not overly tropical, more of a baking coconut, delicious.  I feel that I could burn this scent all year.
If you are looking for a bakery type of coconut then you might want to look into this scent.  Enjoy!

This has to be one of the best bread scents I have tried.  Amazed.....I have no other way to describe how I feel when I smell this scent.  Here’s the overview:  Kringle describes this scent as “Instantly-recognizable, familiar and utterly comforting, our Fresh Baked Bread creates the perfect blend of homey, delicate sweetness and yeasty earthiness that only oven-hot, crusty loaves can offer. “ I ordered one of the Daylights in this scent so I could try it before investing in a large candle. When I first opened it I thought it was really yeast like.  I used to work in a place where I baked all day long and before mixing the dough, I had to let the yeast and hot water sit in the bowl.  I didn’t think I was going to like it to be honest. Very strong.  After a second or two I dared to take another whiff.  I couldn’t believe what I was smelling….crusty, warm and inviting loaf of bread, broken open….smelling the warm insides.  DELICIOUS!  I feel like going to an Italian restaurant where they serve the loaf of bread and pepper, herbs, and garlic  mix with olive oil.  How they were able to recreate the smell of crisp crust and the crumb (the insides), I will never know but I do know that I can have my house smell fantastic and not have to dirty a single mixing bowl!    I had to order it in a large candle.

I will continue to buy this until they no longer make it (how's that for love).

I kept hearing and reading about this company called Kringle Candle Company, so of course I go and look them up on the web. What I found amazed me! This is such a lovely, classy company with the customer in mind. All of their wax is white and filled with lovely fragrance. The have several different lines, even a gentlemen’s line.black tea and honey

Black Tea and Honey =\=
The
website says “The natural earthiness of ground tea leaves is buoyed by sweet golden nectar. As comforting as a freshly-brewed cup.”
A wonderful aroma of bitter tea, some spices and a hint of honey. I can’t wait to melt this, and I have a feeling it will be on my list for a big purchase from Kringle.

vanilla lavender

Vanilla Lavender =\=
The
website says “Two classic scents that play well together. Honest, rich Vanilla meets one of the great understated florals.” Very relaxing type of scent, I could totally use this after a long day at work.

splash

Splash =\=
The
website says “Absolutely refreshing, the high citrus notes and bracing, bold, watery coolness of Splash awakens and invigorates the senses.” I haven’t quite figured out what this smells like to me. I get water and citrus notes one time and then the next I get a baby powder note. I will have to melt it to figure it out, either way I’m sure it’s wonderful!orange and stars

Orange and Stars =\=
The
website says “Cheerful fresh orange notes marry charmingly with pungent dried clove buds to create an unforgettable synergy of scent with Orange and Stars.” I get anise and orange. It’s not super strong, but nice and fresh yet spicy too.

lemon rindLemon Rind =\=
The
website says “The very essence of clean, bright and delightfully-biting, Lemon Rind is a stunningly-accurate natural citrus scent. Ideal any place where freshness comes first.” All I have to say is, you know this would be here! I can’t help myself when it comes to citrus!

fresh cut grass

Fresh Cut Grass =\=
The
website says “This lush, accurate botanical captures the unmistakable green-sweet aroma of a newly-trimmed lawn. Pure nostalgia for many of us.” True to its name it has the earthy and sweet smell of freshly cut blades of green grass! Amazingly realistic!

frosted cake

Frosted Cake =\=
The
website says “Scrumptious golden vanilla base notes and light, sweet top notes harmonize delightfully in this new instant-classic fragrance. The ideal wedding favor.”
Delish! I want this in a large jar! It’s so unique. Just enough bakery cake and sweet frosting with hints of other notes like lemon. Amazing!!
cortland apple

Cortland Apple =\=
The
website says “Here is a wonderfully authentic balance of tart and sweet, the very essence of perfectly ripe autumn fruit: our Cortland Apple.” Nice fresh apple scent. There’s something lovely about this scent. I guess it’s not loaded with other scents or notes, just a pure fresh apple…plain and simple.
