When I first heard about this candle I was unsure about it.  I am not a big fan of super strong, tropical drink coconut scents.  This is definitely different.  Even though the picture is pretty tropical and when you smell this cold you might be turned off by how strong it is….don’t be!  It’s a wonderfully mellow coconut scent…more like the meat and less like a bottle of tanning oil or a pina colada.   It smells like it might have a little be a lime note added, but it doesn’t seem to stick around long.  Even though most of my WJ candles are super strong, this one is nice, it’s the perfect.  Reminds me of the shredded coconut or if you buy fresh coconut from the store.  There’s no added sweetener to this delectable fruit, pure goodness.   I am burning a two wick medium tumbler that I purchased from my local TJMaxx.  The picture above is a large two wick tumbler also purchased from TJMaxx.

Alright so I broke down and went shopping at B&BW on Friday. The 4oz candles are on sale 2 for $10 I couldn't resist! I don't usually buy the 4 oz candles because they often misbehave while they are burning but since there are SO many scents out I wanted to try some scents that I was hesitant to buy in a three wick (14.5oz). Here are the scents I purchased at the store:
Raspberry Sun Tea
Sun Tan
Summer Boardwalk
Pink Sangria
Root Beer Float
Ice Cream Shop (mini candle)
Beach Cabana
Blackberry Grapefruit

Well it wasn't enough!! LOL!!! So I placed an order online:
Sea Spray
Seaside Escape
Island Colada
Japanese Cherry Blossom
2 more Root Beer Floats
Summer Boardwalk

I did get a free bottle of Sweet Pea lotion and a floral bag....oh and $1 shipping when I spent $25!
Here's what I think so far:
Raspberry Sun Tea - smells like the powder instant iced tea.
Sun Tan - I *need* this in a three wick. It's a perfect beachy scent.
Ice Cream Shop - reminds me of Sticky Toffee Pudding ( just because toffee is one of the notes I can pick out). I love it and can't wait for a 2 for $20 ...I'll stock up :D
Beach Cabana - cooling off with some aloe filled lotion.
Ii will review each one of these scents separately in video and blog post.

Strong. One of the these little sunshine tarts filled my master bathroom easily. Sweet apple...this is a flash back scent for me. I loved Country Apple when I was a teenager and look forward to using the real deal now. When I am not using it in the shower, I can still enjoy this beautiful scent by melting one of these dupes! The fresh combination of sweet red apples and blossoms is a perfect fragrance for any time of the year. It reminds me of the fall or the start or school. I can remember getting ready on the first day back...nervous but smelling wonderfully delicious. Or it could be springtime when the sweet fruity scent brighten up anyway. It is sweet and strong. It might not be a true apple scent but more of a perfume type scent...I don't care it nostalgic. A wonderfully created duplication. If you are looking for a dupe of CA then check out Shayz Scentz. A new line came out at Yankee Candle, Citrus Passion!  It sounds like something right up my alley!  Citrus is one of my favorite things to burn/melt pretty much all year long with the exception of the short fall and winter season (from the middle of October until the end of the cold days; which can be the first week of January or middle of February).  I always have a lemon candle in the kitchen

Here are the four new scents:

grapefruit cp

Citrus Passion: Grapefruit =\=  Pucker up!  The the cold throw is very light but I get the sour sweet that you would get when you cut open a grapefruit.   orange cp

Citrus Passion: Orange =\= A bright  juicy scent.

vanilla pound cakeI purchased this candle from TJMaxx not too long ago.  I had heard that this company was purchased by Yankee so I thought “well it has to be a pretty good candle, right?”  It has a wonderful throw filled with creamy vanilla and buttery heavy pound cake makes this a wonderfully fragrant candle. Not only is it awesome on its own, it's a great candle to burn with another. Again, It has a pretty good throw since it was able to fill my great room. If I see this scent again I will be picking up another.

I finished a couple of body washes this past month which is good timing since I'd like to switch gears and get ready for summer. Even though one of the scents is one I would use year round. Good bye to:
Rice Flower and Shea. This is a wonderful neutral kind of scent.
Secret Wonderland. One of my favorites! I use this year round but I don't use it as often in the spring/summer since that's when BBW comes out with new scents and there is always a couple that I like :)

Yankee Candle started their Samp and Tart Palooza, which is the sale I like to hit up for tarts!  You can’t beat paying a dollar a tart, especially since there have been several new scents that have come out.  I have to say I am truly enjoying Fruit Fusion! Anyway, the sale is going on now and I think it is going to continue until the 15th.  You don’t need a coupon and it’s happening at YC stores and online.

Here are the scents I bought:

Fruit Fusion, Midnight Jasmine, Lily of the Valley, Pink Dragon Fruit, Wild Passion Fruit, Sage and Citrus, Chocolate Bunnies, Grapevine and Oak, Juicy Watermelon, Strawberry Guava, Soft Blanket, True Crush, First Kiss, Loves Me, Loves Me Not, and Sweet Honeysuckle.

Okay so I have been seeing a lot of people getting the new fruit scents that just came out at Yankee and I'm super jealous. I sooooo want to try Fruit Fusion! It sounds right up my alley!! What?!? Fruit scents aren't your thing?? No worries, there are plenty of fresh scents that have earthy/grassy notes to them.
I truly enjoy Soft Blanket for those rainy afternoons...typically I will have that going in the office and Storm Watch in the bedroom.
On sunny warm days I prefer Green Grass! It's a wonderful sweet grass scent which reminds me of a summer afternoon, after my dad would mow the lawn. <3
Like the smells you take in at the beach?? I know this isn't for everyone but Sun and Sand is on of my top picks. Let's face it, here where I live we're ready for the beach almost all year. I enjoy getting ready for spring and summer visits to the local beach where you smell the salty ocean water, and suntan lotion.
Melting something for the evening? How about Pink Sands, Midsummers Night, or midnight Jasmine.
