I went to Lush for the first time on Saturday.  I am not one that feels the need to have hand made products for my hair and skin but I am willing to try it out.  You never know..you might just like it!  So anyways, my poor hubs had to stand there why this very friend guy had his hands all in my hair.  The hubs wasn’t too thrilled but you know if you like long hair you better let me do what I want to maintain it!  Here is the scoop on what I picked up:

jumping juniper solid shampooSolid Shampoo Bar =\= Jumping Juniper
I have never used a solid shampoo and was curious so I picked this one up during my visit to Lush.  I do believe it has lavender, rosemary and juniper oil in it.  When you flip this over you will actually see the rosemary.  It smells nice even though I’m not a big fan of lavender it’s subtle. It does make my hair feel “squeaky clean”.

small conditioner

Solid Conditioner Bar =\= Jungle
According to the website (Lush)Jungle is made for all hair types and contains five different fruits.  It should detangle and make your hair smooth and shiny.  I don’t usually use conditioner because my hair will look greasy no matter how much I use, however, I am excited to try a bar!  I think I will have more control over where the conditioner goes instead of a liquid conditioner that ends up on my scalp and makes my roots look really gross.

snake oil barTea Tree Scalp Treatment Bar=\= Snake Oil
This bar is to be used for dandruff….I know my secret is out now! I don’t have massive dandruff or anything but I like to keep prevention measures on hand just in case I need it.  I was told by the guy at the store to warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds and then scrap off a little and massage it in to my scalp, leave it for 20 minutes and then wash your hair with shampoo.  I haven’t tried it but when I need to, I will let you know how it works.  Said to contain Lavender, tea tree and peppermint oils.

Bubble Bar =\= Creamy Candy Barbubble bar
Yum yum yum!!  Sweet vanilla in a creamy bar makes bath time fun for everyone!  No really!  I really like this product since one of the things I wish would last longer when taking a bubble bath is the bubbles.  I was told if it seems like the bubbles start to die out, just add more water.  Now if I can just get my water heater to make hot water faster then I would be in business!

fizz banger

Bath Bomb =\= Fizzbanger
It’s supposed to smell like apples and cinnamon which I get a little apple but I am sure I’ll get more when I actually use it.  I was told it changes colors while it melts away in the tub.  I don’t use bath bombs regularly but this one might just make a true believer out of me!  After seeing Mrs. Whippy used as an example at the store I am very excited!   Stay tuned for a review of all of these products, either on YouTube or on this blog!

The new line of candles were being placed on the shelf when I walked in at Yankee Candle yesterday.

The scents are:
1. Bright Copper Kettles
2. Warm Woolen Mittens
3. Raindrops on Roses
4. Moon on Their Wings
5. Blue Satin Sashes
6. Crisp Apple Strudel
I picked up three of the six in large jars since they were having a buy 2 get 2 free sale going on.  copperkettlesHere they are:

Bright Copper Kettles
Yankee’s description of this scent is “Whistling warming spices aglow, including cinnamon bark, clove buds, allspice and nutmeg.”  It’s everything I love about spicy scents.  I always look forward to burning these during the winter months.  It’s a wonderful mild fragrance based on the cold throw.  However, I am worried about how strong of a throw it will have when it is lit.

warmwoolen mittens

Warm Woolen Mittens
Yankee’s description of this scent is “Just cleaned and warmed by the stove . . . a cozy scent with notes of lemon, apple, lily and musk.”  I wasn’t going to get this scent since I wasn’t sure what it would be like.  I’m not a huge musk fan.  I only own a few scents that musk in them in both candles and body care.  I was pleasantly surprised with the beauty of this fragrance.  I haven’t burned it yet, but it’s like a winter time Soft Blanket, in my opinion.  Floral, fresh, snuggly and sweet all things I would want my hands embraced with while fighting the harsh cold.

crisp apple strudel

Crisp Apple Strudel
Yankee’s description of this scent is “An Austrian favorite . . . golden and sugared on the outside, tart apples and brown sugar on the inside.”  I am super happy with this scent!  The best way I can describe it is Apple Pie and God Bless America had a baby.  It’s what I love about GBA, sweet apple-ly goodness.  Apple Pie has the great bakery crust and both have hints of cinnamon.  Love love love this!  I did start burning it (as soon as I got home from the store and made the YouTube video).  The cold throw is very inviting.  As I burn it, it was a little weak but has picked up now that I have let it reach a full wax pool and taken off the My Favorite Things illumalid.

I will be grabbing the other scents the next visit to YC.  I want to get some more of these scents as well.  I have a feeling I’ll be burning these all thru November!

Enjoy!!
